5 Ways To Turn The Power On In Your Brain

#1 - Food is Medicine…Brain Food

-Get fats (omega-3s, olive oil, avocado, coconut oil)

-Eat the colors of the rainbow

-Stay in the periphery of the grocery store

-Go nuts! Nuts are linked to higher serotonin which makes us more calm and happy

-SMASH some FISH:

Salmon. Mackerel. Anchovies. Sardines. Herring.

These are the fish that are nutrient rich, high in omega-3’s, and low in mercury.


#2 -Prioritize Sleep


-Your body works hard to regenerate itself.

-Keep it cool. Lowered temps help induce sleep

-Write your thoughts out instead of taking them to bed with you.

-Get in bed earlier than you normally would -Do some reading and breathing to prep for good sleep.

This is where the recovery happens.


#3 - Get your body moving


Walk, dance, bike, take the stairs, plant in your garden. Just move.

Exercise enhances blood flow and neuroplasticity. How amazing is that!?

Moving your body actually increases your brains power.



#4 - Meditate


Studies have shown it can help with emotional self regulation and focus. It can also reduce anxiety and depression.

Give this a try next time…

Breathe in, Breathe out.

In for a count of 4 seconds. Hold for 1 second. Exhale for a count of 8 seconds. Repeat 4x. This helps reset your brain to be in a more relaxed (rest and digest) state vs a stressed fight or flight state


#5 - Watch your language


The words we use matter. The use of positive words sends positive messages to our brains. And where our brain goes, our mind follows.
